Bokja
BOKJA is a Beirut-based design studio established in the year 2000 and founded by Huda Baroudi and Maria Hibri, Bokja was born from the female duo’s shared passion for furniture, textiles, art and design.
Their signature is its assemblage aesthetic, bringing together textile fragments of a time and place, situating them in unusual arrangements to communicate a unified message.

Ayda Louisa Dress
Inspired by a vintage nightgown of Huda’s mother, the Ayda slip dress is an ephemeral creation reinvigorated in Russian chintz. Reminiscent of a faded portrait, and the fragility of the physical, Ayda’s original print was projected onto a BOKJA textile and translated into timeless garments for yet another generation to adore.

Denise Dress in Bloom
Named for a friend and spirited textile designer, the Denise print is the meeting of an arresting floral with a simple, linen textile that can be worn all season, for all occasions. Delicate tie straps at the shoulders and white brocaded flowers along the neckline add a pop of whimsy to an otherwise delicate interpretation of Denise, a talented friend. Jeanne D’Arc Fabulous Dress
Inspired by Victorian lace that Maria turned into a cushion (and kept close by on her bed for many years), the Jeanne d’Arc fabric is an artistic amalgamation of superimposing and distressing the original print and lace with florals that were commissioned by a local artisan, Tracy’s mother. The print is subsequently named after Tracy’s mother’s name. Though it appears fragile, it has survived the test of time and transferred its longevity to one of BOKJA?s most versatile maxi dresses.

The Proposal overnight shirt
Inspired by co-founder Maria’s collection of Victorian lace, and a one-of-a-kind century’s old table cloth, The Proposal’s central motif depicts a moment of love frozen in time: a man on one knee before his beloved. Juxtaposed with a light and fun checkered fabric and tossed roses, The Proposal’s playfulness culminates in dreamy fragility, but fragility with a BOKJA twist. Made from pure linen, the print is available in a nightshirt.
