Maku is a textile‑led clothing house shaped by the vision of founder‑director Santanu Das, a conceptual artist who treats the brand as an extension of his practice. Its story begins with the long arc of India’s handloom history—Khadi, Jamdani, and the deep cultural memory carried in hand‑spun, hand‑woven cloth. Santanu built Maku on the belief that design should emerge from the loom, not override it, and that artisanship is a living intelligence rather than a resource to be exploited.
