Astier de Villatte’s Grand Chalet Scented Candle transports you to a secluded Swiss Alpine village, where the air is crisp and the landscape serene. Inspired by the home of painter Balthus, this fragrance encapsulates the essence of a peaceful retreat surrounded by ancient lime trees. The scent opens with the delicate notes of mimosa and myrtle, intertwined with the citrusy brightness of bergamot and the floral sweetness of linden flower. Heliotrope adds a soft, powdery touch, while sandalwood and musk provide a warm, grounding base. Designed in collaboration with Setsuko Klossowska de Rola and Françoise Caron, this candle evokes a sense of tranquility and timeless elegance.

How to use
Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Trim the wick to 5–6 mm before each use to ensure a clean burn. Allow the candle to burn for 2–3 hours during the first use to establish an even wax pool.
Composition
Crafted with a plant-based wax blend, including a touch of beeswax, free from paraffin or petrochemical derivatives, ensuring a clean and soot-free burn. The wick is woven from pure cotton, promoting a consistent and trace-free combustion.

Packaging
Encased in a handcrafted blown glass tumbler from Tuscany, each piece is unique with a transparent, slightly grey hue and light bubbles. The packaging features lead-printed labels and boxes produced by SAIG, one of the last typographic workshops in the world.
